Coach adamant Dubbo CYMS can still improve

Nick McGrath - Daily Liberal

DUBBO CYMS sit 10 competition points clear of their nearest Group 11 rivals Nyngan, yet coach Tim Ryan is adamant his side’s potential hasn’t yet been reached – not even close.

Ryan’s men took care of business courtesy of a 26-4 victory over the then second-placed Parkes at Jock Colley Oval last Sunday.

It was a win built on defence and if the Fishies aim up in similar fashion again against Nyngan in the final round, it’ll take a brave man to predict CYMS’ first loss in 2016 to come against the Tigers – an outfit many within Group 11 believe will be the minor premiers’ biggest challenge come finals time.

Ryan revealed the secret behind his side’s ability to continually set the bar higher than any other side in the competition can reach is all in the mind.

“Our attitude all season has been great,” Ryan said. “We can get better. If we didn't think we could we’d be in a bit of trouble. We can get a lot better.”
